Together, we’ll start designing and preparing for your portrait session. This will include deciding on the date and time of your session and scheduling an In-Person Reveal and Order Session. Throughout the planning phase, we’ll provide you with helpful tips and guidance on how to best prepare for your shoot to include outfit selection, hair and make up recommendations, and any props or personal items you may want to include in your photos.

On the day of your portrait session, you can expect a custom-designed experience. Every aspect of your session is carefully planned to reflect your vision. From the choice of location to the style of shooting, we ensure that your session is uniquely yours. You will receive a fully guided professional portrait session. Whether you're a natural in front of the camera or a bit camera shy, our expert guidance will make you feel at ease. We'll guide you through poses, expressions, and more, making sure you look and feel your best.

The In-Person Reveal and Order Session is scheduled approximately 2-3 weeks after your portrait session. During the Reveal portion, I'll be there to walk you through your gallery of images as you experience the joy of seeing your portraits for the first time. During the Order portion, you’ll get to select your absolute favorite images and decide how you want to display them.

The level of preparation for your horse is entirely at your discretion, but a cleaner horse results in better portraits. Keep in mind that extensive editing can address many imperfections, but it's essential to start with a well-groomed horse.
I recommend following typical "show preparation" practices, which include tasks like clipping ears, muzzles, and applying hoof polish. These details truly elevate equestrian portraits.

For Black Background Portrait Sessions, you can expect a hassle-free and straightforward setup. We do not rely on backdrops or lights to create this unique look. Instead, we aim to make the experience as convenient and stress-free as possible for both you and your horse.
During the session, we utilize natural lighting, typically in the entrance to a barn aisle or an indoor arena. The magic happens in the editing room! To ensure the best results, I recommend preparing a clean area for the shoot. If possible, turn off lights or close barn doors to minimize distractions and create the ideal setting for captruing stunning black background portraits.
What is required for a Black Background Portrait Session?
When choosing your outfits for your Equestrian Portrait Session, consider a few key factors to make the most of your portraits. Start my taking the weather into account, ensuring you're comfortable during the shoot. Consider coordinating your outfit with your room's color scheme to ensure a cohesive look when hanging a Framed Fine Art Wall Portrait.
Think about the atmosphere you want to create in your portraits - whether it's an ethereal or regal look - and select clothing accordingly. We recommend bringing 2 to 3 outfits to provide variety in your gallery of images. One option could be a flowing dress that adds movement and interest to your images, especially if there's wind. Another outfit should be something you're comfortable riding in, like a show outfit with tall, polished boots. Lastly, consider coordinating with your horse's dress.
